Wall Art

All wall art prints and wall hangings are printed to order to save wastage, so please allow for a 2-4 wek turnaround. We will endeavour to get them to you as soon as possible, but please do also allow for shipping to your location (which can vary depending on the time of year and due to COVID).

Will my Art Print have border?

All Art Prints are full bleed (right to the edges) wherever possible. If they aren’t, it will be noted in the individual product listing.

Will my Art Print come with a frame?

At this time all prints are sold unframed.

Do you sell frames?

At this time we don’t sell frames with Art Prints. For Australian customers we recommend In the Daylight for wooden print hangers, and Country Road, West Elm and Kmart for frames. In the UK, we’ve used (and LOVE) Geometrie and they ship internationally too.

How will my print arrive?

Your A5, A4, A3 prints will arrive flat in a rigid mailer. Size A2 prints and larger will arrive in a tube mailer.

Are the wall hangings ready to hang?

Each wall hanging comes with a top and bottom border with room to insert a hanging dowel. You can also use a clamp style hanger if you prefer that. Dowel can be found at your local hardware store and trimmed to fit. Wall hangings do not include the dowel as seen in the product images.

I received my Wall Hanging, can I iron it?

Yes. We send all wall hangings folded, so you might need to. Set your iron to hot and wait for it to heat up. Flip your wall hanging to the reverse side. The steam function is preferred. You can also use a thin cloth to cover the back of your wall hanging as you iron.

Custom Work & Collaborations

Pricing

All pricing depends on many factors including the style of the design and what it is used for. Some prices are set, but some are flexible. Brook is always happy discuss your budget, and it’s always good to have an idea in mind when reaching out to discuss. You can email hello@brookgossen.com with your budget and for custom designs, please include a brief, and project time frame as well.

Custom Work Availability

Brook currently has a 1-2 month waiting period for all work. If you would really like to work with Brook sooner, there’s a chance it can be rushed through, depending on her workload. If it is possible, rush fees do apply.

,Collaborations

Brook is available for collaborations that suit her brand and would love to hear your ideas. Please note that Brook can’t take on all collabs, and often if she can’t it’s not because you don’t have a good idea, it’s because she doesn’t have time! 🙂

Custom Designs

Brook can create a custom design especially for your brand and will need a brief from you in order to quote. Your brief should include these details:

  • Budget
  • Timeframe
  • What industry you are in (homewares/fashion, etc)
  • What products the design will be used for (and how many if possible)
  • How it will be sold
  • Your vision for the design

Please note that with all custom designs, Brook maintains full copyright and you receive a license to use the design for an agreed time frame. You do not receive outright rights to any custom designs unless discussed in detail and priced accordingly and a mutual agreement is reached.

Licensing

What is licensing all about?

Licensing means that you purchase the rights to use an artwork on your products for a limited timeframe, usually 12 months. This makes purchasing art an affordable option for your brand. It means you have the right to use and reproduce the designs onto the agreed products for the licence term. Once that term is over, you either renew the licence, or let it lapse.

What are my licensing options?

non-exclusive license means that you may licence the artwork, and other people may too. This license applies only to existing designs in my pattern library and to those that are available for download in Brook’s pattern store.

An industry-exclusive license means that you may licence an existing artwork from my pattern library and use it for the industry you work in, for example women’s clothing. We can however licence the same design to another business or maker in a different industry, such as baby clothing or stationery.

An exclusive license means that you can licence an existing and fully available design from my pattern library, or a custom designed pattern, and the licence solely belongs to you. We cannot sell licenses to any other industry or maker, it is for you alone for the license period.

For any of the above, at the end of the license term, you may choose to renew the license. If you don’t, the design is then available again.

Please note that Brook has a very strong personal style – which is why you love her work! It does mean however, that she may use similar elements, motifs and colour palettes across a range of different designs and we reserve the right to create designs of a similar nature and in Brook’s artistic style, including exclusive and custom designs.

Patterns & Designs

The Design Library

Brook has an extensive library of designs in her password protected Pattern Library. Please use the contact form or email hello@brookgossen.com to request access.

The designs within the pattern have varying availability and licensing options and we aim to keep it as accurate as possible, however some changes may occur. All designs are subject to availability and please select the Enquire button to get more details.

So… you’ve found a design you love – what now?

Yay! Just hit the Enquire button on any designs that take your fancy and complete the form with the colourway you’re interested in and any further details or questions you may have.

As soon as we can, we’ll respond to your enquiry. We may need to ask you a few more questions and then we can let you know availability, pricing and time required if necessary, to get the design ready for you. Once that’s all sorted, we’ll send you a contract that outlines the licensing agreement between us both, and an invoice, with the design to follow once full payment is received.

Pattern Downloads

Occaisionally, some patterns will be available as a direct download. In doing so you accept all of the terms and conditions and have licensed the work. The design file will be sent to you as per the time frame in the individual product listing. Some are available immediately, some within 24-48 hours; however, some do require longer, and depending on Brook’s workload may take up to 2 weeks. Please read the individual listing and our FAQs or email hello@brookgossen.com if you have any questions.

Design Downloads

From time-to-time, Brook offers product downloads in her online store. In downloading these items, you accept all of the terms and conditions as per our T&C’s. The design file will be sent to you as per the time frame in the individual product listing. Please read the individual listing and our FAQs or email hello@brookgossen.com if you have any questions.

Changes to designs

Colour

If you like a design but require it in a different colourway, that may be possible, but not always. It depends on the kind of design, and how it was made. Just let us know which one and we can assess it for you. Colour way changes incur and extra fee on top of the licensing fee. You may not change the colours once the file is handed over.

All licensed designs are either CMYK or RGB, however some may be pantone matched for an additional fee. Test prints are always suggested before any production.

Please note that colours may vary from screen to screen and from screen to paper or product. Again, test prints are always suggested before any production.

Scale

Brook sets the scale to how she sees it best shows the design. If you need to adjust the scale to suit your product, you may do so, but please try to keep the integrity of the design, that is, don’t go too small, it’s not designed to be viewed that way. If in any doubt, just contact Brook for advice.

Printing on fabric

We do not do any printing – you just purchase the license, and it’s up to you to source manufacturing. We can offer suggestions for Australian digital printers on request.

Copyright

Please note that Brook retains all copyright to all of her designs and derivatives, including custom designs. Using Brook’s designs as ‘inspiration’ to inform your designs while not directly breaching copyright does have a host of ethical issues. If Brook’s work informs your own and you then monetise it, ethically that’s not cool. If you’re starting out and developing your style, Brook’s always happy to chat!

Please be aware that Client’s creative input does not equate to copyright ownership. For collaborations where both parties have artistic input which includes manual labour and not just ideas, then copyright is shared.
